The territory

Lerici and the Golfo dei Poeti with their breathtaking views of the sea, the Val di Magra and Sarzana, the Quarries of Carrara and the enchanting villages of the Cinque Terre: there is this and much more to discover in the extraordinary territory that surrounds us.

Lerici is known as the Pearl of the Gulf of La Spezia, so called by the artists who stayed there and drew inspiration for their works, including Shelley.

The medieval town of Sarzana is extremely well known for its cultural and artistic liveliness.

The name ‘Cinque Terre’ defines the coastal strip that stretches for 20 kilometres and connects Riomaggiore with Punta Mesco.

The seaside village of Portovenere is located in the Gulf of La Spezia and is home to architectural remains that are important for their beauty and preservation: these include the ancient Church of San Pietro, the Genovese Fortress and the original city walls.

Pietrasanta, the capital of Versilia, is a first-class artistic centre.

The Carrara quarries are located in the Apuan Alps and white marble, a material dear to Michelangelo and Canova, is extracted there.
